August 31st - September 4th

Don´t forget that we have test tomorrow related with the following topics.
  • Order of Operations
  • Evaluating Expressions
  • Translating Verbal Phrases to Numrical Expressions
  • Graphing points in the coordinate system
  • Exponents

To review the above mentioned topics students are to develop a foldable project be turned by Friday, September 4th. Students must follow the following rubric to obtain all the points.

Foldable Rubric

Order of Operations, Changing Verbal Phrases to Numerical Expressions, Evaluating Expressions

Objective: To Review and Understand the topics.

Materials: 2 Iris sheets (Given in Class)

Project should include the following:

1. Title, Name /Sectionm Date and each part is labled properly. 10%

2. Definition for each theme.(To reinforce vocabulary usage.)20%

3. Two Examples of each. 20%

4. Exaplain how each example was solved.( Name the steps used to solve.) 30%

5. Foldable is organized, clean and creative and can be used as a studying tool. 20%

6. Attach the Rubric.

This week we will be covering the Basic Properties.

  • Commutative Properties
  • Associative Property
  • Addition and Subtraction Properties of zero
  • Multiplication and Division Properties of zero
  • Multiplication and Division Properties of one

We will also be working Equations and Inverse Operations.

Test next Tuesday, September 8th Study from the NB and Binder

  • Ww will continue to work in mountain math problems in a daily basis
  • We will be reviewing using the Problem Solving Plan
  • We will be translating verbal phrases into numerical expression and emphasizing the following vocabulary:

Variable
Algebraic Expressions
Ordered Pair
conjecture
inductive reasoning
numerical expressions
evaluate


And the use of the terms for
