Week Sept 28th-Oct 2nd

Last week we began our Unit of Integers.
WE will be covering
  • Ordering Integers
  • Absolute Value
  • Adding Integers
  • Subtracting Integers
  • Multiplying Integers
  • Dividing Integers
  • Word Problems Mode, Mean, Median, Range/Temperature/Money

You may review for Thursday Test from NB, BInder, and Computer Games.

Test will include Vocabulary, Ordering Integers, Adding/Subtracting Integers, Representing Operations, Using a number line, Mode, Mean, Median, Range and Word Problems

Vocabulary Test Chapter 1

Hi guys, as I told you this coming Wednesday, September 30th we will be having the vocabulary test that corresponds to Chapter 1 vocabulary, list was provided in the last entry. I recomend that you go to: http://www.coolmath4kids.com/ click on math dictionary and prepare a set of flash cards which will serve as a tool for studying. Make sure to be prepared for Wednesday.

Week of September 21- September 25

PLATO TEST WILL BE HELD FOR ALL SEVENTH GRADERS TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 29TH


Last week was a two day week, and we had the chance to work in Mountain Math and review the Properties (Commutative Property of Addition, Commutative Property of Multiplication, Associative Property of Addition, Associative Property of Multiplication, Multiplicative Identity, Multiplicative Property of Zero)
We are also reviewing in Centers during block time LCM, GCF, Mean, Mode, Median, Range, Patterns and Equations.
This week we will be having a test on Properties, Order of Operations and Vocabulary Chapter 1 Tuesday September 22 ( 7-1, 7-2, 7-4) Wednesday September 23 (7-3)

Vocabulary List:

Objective: To Review and Understand Different Properties and Grid Paper
Materials: Iris SHeer and Grid Paper
Project should include the following:
Cover Page the includes: School Name
1. Title, Students Name / Section, Date . 10%
2. Definition for each Property ( To reinforce vocabulary usage.) 30%
3. Two Examples for each and solve. 50%
4. Foldable is organized, clean and creative and can be used as a studying tool. 10%
5. Attach the Rubric.
Wednesday we will begin with Integers.
Vocabulary: Negative Number - Integers - Absolute Value - Inequalities
Students will be able to compare, order and solve adding and subtracting integers problems.
