Week as of May 17th to May 21st

This week we will continue working with Polynomials. Adding, Subtracting, Multiplying and Dividing.
Students will be given review packet so they can review what we covered during 7th grade.
We will be making our ITBS exams from the 18,19 and 20th so I will not be able to meet with some of the class sections. I strongly recommend to visit the blog to check your daily assignments.

This week we will continue with Rational Numbers Operations(Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division) It is extremely important that you do your homework daily, focus in class and be prepared as well.

It needs to be presented with a cover page and complete process should be included. 7-1, 7-2, 7.3 will have Chapter 5 test and Thursday will be 7-4

We ha the test of Multiplying /Dividing Rational Numbers today. Next week we will be having a test Tuesday March 1st which includes
  • Adding, Subtracting, Multiplying and Dividing Rational Numbers.
  • Word Problems will be included as well as everything included in the Packets 5-1 to 5-9

During our block period last week, working in a class activity to reinforce how to change fractions to decimals and to percents. We will integrate this with the Dispayin Data Section that we will be reviewing this week.

For Friday February 26th students are to present their Project which should include:

Page 1- Cover page (School´s Name, Subject, Project´s Name, Students name, Grade and Section, Place and Date) 5 Points

Page 2- Vocabulary: They are to define (fraction, decimal, percent, degree, bar graph, Pie Graph) and provide 2 examples for each. 15 Points

Page 3- Data table (40 Points)
data was recorded in class, and the conversions were completed as well.
Unfortunately those students who didn´t bring their Skittles bag will have 20 Points less(was announced one week in advanced)

They will continue to solve equations and identify sequences.

This week we will be reviewing and students will be working in a Group Project.
Project: Create a Game that will enable students to review the following:

  • Two Step Equations
  • Solving Equations with Variable on Each Side
  • Solving Equations by Graphing Symbols
  • Solving Inequalities by Adding or Subtracting
  • Solving Inequalities by Multiplying or Dividing
  • Solving Multi-Step Equations
Today they were assigned in their groups and the objectives were discussed.
They will be given 20 minutes each day and 40 minutes from their block.
Games need to be created at school, therefore they are to use their time wisely.
Monday they will be presenting their ganes to the rest of the class members. A spokesperson will be selected to explain the rules.
Students aare to follow the rubric to complete the assignment.

Test Tuesday, January 26th. It includes one step equations, tow step equations, equations with variables on both sides and Solving Inequalities by Adding/Subtracting.
You need to be able to graph and prove the answer gotten is right by replacing the variable.
This week we will be reviewing using Mountain Math and Games that have been uploaded in the Blog site. So comments will be taken in consideration if you want to earn 5 extra points in your following test.
We will begin Solving Inequalities by Multiplying or Dividing and Solving with Multi-Step Inequalities.

This week we will be working in solving inequalities and solving inequalities by adding and subtracting. We will also be working with customary units. So students need to have their with the conversions every single day. A short project will be posted this coming Wednesday which needs to be turned in Thursday January 21st. Next test will be Thursday January 21st and Friday January 22nd upon scheduled.
